12th June 2009: The first 2 pre-season friendlies have been lined up against Edinburgh West league team Tollcross Thistle and Windlaw AFC from the Greater Glasgow region.
24th May 2009: Thank you to everyone who attended the end of season awards night last night. I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and congratulations to the players who received the awards ( John Bann, Brian Mason, Jason Cunningham, Craig Wheelan and Dennis Henderson.
19th May 2009: PROMOTION !!!!!! Silverknowes Vale have been promoted to the Lothian West league next season after Livingston AFC refused to play Silverknowes in the final game of the 3 team tourney play off. After being awarded a 3-0 victory, both Redpath Albion and Silverknowe Vales ended the 3 team tourney with 4 points each and both were declared promoted. Well done to all the players this season in reaching our aim in acheiving promotion this season.
18th May 2009: VALE STILL IN THE HUNT FOR PROMOTION AFTER HARD FOUGHT DRAW - Silverknowes came from behind to earn a draw in the first game of the play offs.
16th May 2009: Silverknowes have qualified for the play-offs, by finishing 3rd in the Edinburgh Central league. The will join Redpath Albion and Livingston in a 3 team tourney to determine who is promoted.
10th May 2009: SILVERKNOWES SIGN OFF LEAGUE CAMPAIGN WITH VICTORY - Silverknowes recorded a 3-1 victory at the Jack Kane Centre over Burgh Vale, to all but secure third place in the league
5th May 2009:STRONG VALE SNATCH LATE WINNER AGAINST CHAMPIONS - Scott Manson scored a late winner for Vale as they over come league champions, Sandys, 2-1 at the Gyle.
2nd May 2009: SILVERKNOWES VALE'S PROMOTION HOPES ALL BUT ENDED BY CONTROVERSIAL GOAL - Silverknowes scored in the last minute, only for Argyle to make it 3-3 seconds later and all but end Vale's promotion hopes

2nd Novermber 2008: SILVERKNOWES SHOCKER! : A poor second half performance cost Silverknowes passage into the next round, with a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Watt Star.

12th October 2008: ANDERSON CUP VICTORY FOR VALE: Silverknowes progressed through to the 2nd round of the Anderson Cup, with a well deserved 3-1 win over Melville Rovers.
5th October 2008: BACK TO WINNINGS WAYS, WITH THUMPING WIN - Silverknowes got back to winning ways in the league with a resounding 12-1 victory over Leith Star Athletic.
28th September 2008: CUP EXIT FOR VALE AT FIRST HURDLE - Silverknowes bowed out of the Scottish Cup in the first round for the second year running after a dissapointing 2-1 defeat to Meadow Star.
21st September 2008: REF NO SHOW DISSAPOINTS SILVERKNOWES - The referee cancelled minutes before kick off on Saturday, for the game against Argyle, with the two teams eventually playing out a friendly which Silverknowes won 6-0.
6th September 2008: POOR START PROVES COSTLY - Silverknowes suffered their first defeat of the season, going down 4-1 to Cabrera, after handing their opponents a 2-0 lead early on and never recovering.

27th August 2008: SILVERKNOWES GET OFF TO A FLYER - Silverknowes ran out an impressive 5-1 winners tonight at the expense of Civil Service Strollers in their opening league game of the season, with debutants David Lumsden and Keith Bateman amongst the goals. Click Here for match report
27th August 2008: Another two new additions to the squad today, with the signings of Anthony Powch and Keith Bateman. This now brings our squad upto 22 players.
20th August 2008: We welcome three more additions to the squad today, with John Bann, Michael Burns and Robin Chambers all signing on for the season. This takes us upto 4 new signings this year, with another two hopefully to sign on Saturday.
19th August 2008: A big thank you to everyone who attended the race night on Saturday. The club made a few bob and also everyone looked liked they fair enjoyed themselves.
14th August 2008: We welcome our first new signing of the season, David Lumsden, formerly of Granton Vale, with a few more in the pipeline this weekend ready to follow suit.
7th August 2008: We will be opening up our league campaign away to league newcomers Burgh Vale at the Gyle on Saturday 23rd August. We have also been drawn away to Redpath Albion in the 2nd round of the Logan Cup.
7th August 2008: Again the league format has been reshuffled and finalised at the first council meeting of the season, with Burgh Vale joining the Edinburgh Central league to make up a 11 team league.
5th August 2008: Again Silverknowes went down to a good St.Bernards side tonight, 3-1. Losing 2 goals in the last seven minutes, which robbed us of a creditbale draw. Click Here for match report.
5th August 2008: Because of 3 teams folding during the close season, the league formats have been adjusted, with Alba Athletic, originally in our league(Edinburgh Central), moving to the Edinburgh West league, therefor reducing the number of teams in our league to 10.
2nd August 2008: Unfortunately, Silverknowes went down 4-2 to Barca-Milton today. Silverknowes could not build on a good solid first half and tired in the second half to hand their opponents the win.Click Here for match report.
3rd July 2008: Our preseason fixture program has now been complete, with games against Edinburgh Central champions Watt Star, Edinburgh East team Barca-Milton and Edinburgh Southern AFC from the Edinburgh Sunday morning leagues all confirmed.
15th June 2008: Our pre-season fixture list is building up now and we have already confirmed games against Lothian Edinburgh League runners-up St.Bernards, Edinburgh East team Redpath Albion and Greater Glasgow amatuer side Windlaw AFC.

31st May 2008: A first for the new season ahead - The use of 3rd generation astroturf pitches will be used this season ( Saughton ). I understand 3 or 4 clubs have requested to use this venue for their homes games, including Napier University, who are in our league.
